YOUTH BASKETBALL Winter I ONLY
It's that time again, Basketball Season!
Program focuses on teaching the players the basic skills, teamwork & sportsmanship.
All participants will play equal time. Practice will be held once a week at each team coach's discretion.

FEE: Members: $45 Program Participant: $60 Pictures may be purchased for an additional fee.
Registration Deadline January 9. Late registrations will be accepted on space available basis with a $15 late fee.
$10 off if you participated in 2011 Fall II session basketball and have the reversible jersey.
Saturday Mornings
The 1st Saturday, January 14 will be practice only. Games will be played on Saturday
Mornings beginning January 21st.

HEALTH, WELL-BEING & FITNESS For Children ages 9 to 14 who are struggling with their weight and wish to form healthier habits. Families also participate in this multi-disciplinary approach. Children must be overweight and i the 85th percentile or greater on the Body mass Index (BMI) growth chart. Click here for more information

School Days Out - 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM Boys and Girls Kindergarten through 6ht grade, the Y is the place to be when school is out. Swimming, crafts, games, nutrition and character development are just a few activities that will be offered each day. Children will need to bring a swimsuit, wear comfortable shoes and be ready for a eductiaonal and fun filled day.
Lunch is provided. Funded through the United Way.

Youth Swim Lessons - Ages 6 years & Older
PROVIDING GUIDANCE AND ENCOURAGEMENT AS THEY GROW
In YMCA Swim Lessons, not only are your children taught to swim in a caring way, but they also learn about personal safety, rescue skills, and water activities they can enjoy for a lifetime. Children progress through levels after mastering all the skills in each level. It often takes a child several sessions at one level before progressing to the next.

Polliwog-New Swimmers Designed for new swimmers this beginner level helps children develop safe pool behavior, adjust to the water, and develop independent movement through the water. Mon. 5:15 - 5:55 PM OR Thurs. 6:00 - 6:40 PM OR Sat. 9:45 -10:25 AM |
Guppy-Advanced Beginner Children will work on improving stroke skills and endurance. Correct breathing and stroke coordination is emphasized. This level is for children who have progressed through Pike & Eel and turned 6 years old, or have progressed through Polliwog and are comfortable with swimming widths of the pool in deep water on their front (face in the water); back & side without assistance and can float on front and back without assistance. Minnow-Intermediate Designed for children who have mastered the Guppy level, this class continues to refine strokes & build endurance setting. This class is for children who are comfortable swimming 20 yards each of front crawl with rotary. Children learn self-discipline & goal breathing, back crawl, elementary backstroke, and side stroke. Children must also be able to tread water. Mon. 6:45 - 7:25 PM OR Sat. 10:30-11:10 AM |
Fish-Advanced Intermediate Designed for children who have mastered the Minnow level, students will continue to perfect strokes and increase distance. This class is for children who are comfortable swimming 25 yards each of front crawl with good form, sidestroke with scissors kick, elementary backstroke and have begun to learn the breaststroke. Must be able to tread water for at least one minute and dive into deep water. Thurs. 6:45-7:25 PM |

Swim Team
The Marion YMCA Swim Team is a team for youth that are interested in competitive swimming or learing about competitive swimming. The swim team focuses on team unity, the core values of the YMCA, and learing the team social skills of a very individualized team sport. Practices are held 5 days a week with meets throughout the season. Practices and meets are optional: however, it is strongly encourged that swimmers attend as many proactices and meets as they can. Meets are held on the weekends, at the Marion Family YMCA or other local YMCA's. There are an average of 2 meets a month, all swimmers are encouraged to attend. The full Season begins September 12 and continues through Mid-March. Participants choosing to do only half the season may choose the first half ( September 19 through December 17) or the second half ( December 5 through Mid-March). Fees do not include swim attire, concessions or invitational fees. |
